This is a sample from the 7Be+p experiment in 2005. Please make such a plan before the run.
I. Primary beam (0.2 days)
- primary beam: 7Li3+ *** MeV/u ( *** MeV)... *** T m
no target, faint beam
- turn on D1 at the beam energy F0 1mm slit in, F1 PPAC in, F1 slit open, observe beam
- F1 PPAC center position calibration by F1 slit, adjust the beam position to the PPAC center by D1 magnet.
- turn on D2 at the beam energy, remove F1 PPAC, insert F2 PPAC.
observe the beam by F2 PPAC.
- F2 PPAC center position calibration by F2 slit. adjust the beam position to the PPAC center by D2 magnet. ->use the value for D2 Hall probe calibration
- F2 SSD calibration, remove F2 PPAC and measure the beam energy. put in the gas target and measure the beam energy again.
- turn on WF. HV: *** kV Dipole: *** A( *** T) (The value for dipole can be calculated at the WF control PC). remove F1,F2 PPAC F2 SSD, F0 gas target.
- observe the beam at F3 PPAC-A calibrate PPAC center using slits
- observe the beam at F3 PPAC-B calibrate PPAC center using slits
- measure the beam energy with PSD1 low gain. (gain adjustment.)
II. Secondary Beam Production (0.4 days)
Secondary beam: 7Be4+ *** MeV ( *** T m) at production *** MeV after two PPACs
- put H2 target in, F0 slit open, F1 PPAC in. observe secondary beam at F1 PPAC. F1 slit +/- 15mm. (momentum dispersion is expected to be +/- %.)
- remove F1 PPAC, insert F2 PPAC and SSD.
- check the beam profile at F2 PPAC, RF vs F2 SSD.
- optimize F1 slit for the secondary beam purity and intensity. +/- 15 mm window, scan by 5mm. set the beam center according to the optimization.
- optimize the slit width (if neccesary).
- adjust F2 slit.
- check secondary beam intensity and purity at F2 with full beam.
remove F2 PPAC and SSD turn on WF HV, observe secondary beam by F3 PPAC-A.
HV: *** kV Dipole: *** A ( *** T)
center the beam by changing HV.
- check secondary beam intensity and purity at F3 with full beam. determine the transmission.
- WF focusing at the target, check the extrapolated image.
- optimize F3 slit
III. run
- circuit check/NaI gain adjustment (0.3 days)
- CH2 run (2.3 days)
- C run (0.8 days)
IV. calibration (1 day)
- make proton beam of 2-20 MeV (recommend to consider how many points to measure.)
- measure with telescope #1
- put telescopes #2-#4 at the center and measure
