The 2nd CNS International Summer School will be held at the Wako campus of the Center for Nuclear Study (CNS), the University of Tokyo, in the period of September 16 - 20, 2003 .

This Summer School aims at providing basic knowledge and perspectives of nuclear physics for graduate stundents and postdocs. It consists of lectures by leading scientists in the field of both experimental and theoretical nuclear physics. Each lecture will start with an introductory talk from the fundamental point of view and end with up-to-date topics in the relevant field.

Although this summer school is intended to provide lectures in a wide-ranged fields, including some pheripheral field such as accelerator physics, lectures in this year put main emphasis on physics about various aspects of "nuclear structure". Scheduled lecturers are as follows:

K. Amos (Melbourn, Australia)
Y. Akaishi (KEK, Japan)
H. Hamagaki (CNS, Japan)
T. Hatsuda (Tokyo, Japan)
M. Honma (Aizu, Japan)
S. Kubono (CNS, Japan)
T. Nilsson (CERN, Switzerland)
T. Otsuka (Tokyo, Japan)
V. R. Pandharipande (Ilinois, USA)
T. Motobayashi (RIKEN, Japan)
H. Sakai (Tokyo/CNS, Japan)

Short presentations by stundents are also planned.

CNS welcomes gladly participations of young physicists wide from the world, especially from Asian countries. The organizer may provide living expenses of young students within the limited resource. We can also cover travel expenses of a limited number of participants. If you need the financial supports, please contanct us.
