The Center of Nuclear Study of the University of Tokyo is calling for applications for post-doctoral research fellows
in the field of experimental and theoretical nuclear physics. Details are provided below. We appreciate if you could
circulate the information to interested parties and encourage potential candidates to make an application.
Sincerely Yours,
Taka Otsuka
Director of Center for Nuclear Study, the University of Tokyo
Call for Postdoctoral Researchers at Center for Nuclear Study (CNS), the University of Tokyo (Dec. 22, 2015)
CNS owns and operates several fundamental facilities in the RIBF of the RIKEN Nishina Center for studies in
experimental nuclear physics, with particular emphasis on nuclear astrophysics, nuclear reactions, and nuclear
structure studies with radioactive isotope beams. CNS also has research groups in high-energy nuclear physics, nuclear
theories and the development of ion sources.
JOB TITLE: Project Researcher
FIELD: Experimental or theoretical nuclear physics.
The successful candidates will work on experimental nuclear physics with radioactive isotopes mainly by using the
facilities of CNS (CRIB, SHARAQ, Ge array (GRAPE), OEDO, Active Target, etc), high energy nuclear collisions at ALICE
at LHC, or nuclear structure theory.
ELIGIBILITY: Ph.D degree in experimental/theoretical nuclear physics or a related field, granted by April 1, 2016.
EMPLOYMENT: One-year fixed-term appointment. Renewable twice based on a yearly evaluation. The appointment will be
from April 1, 2016 or later.
PAYMENT: Monthly salary is approximately 300,000 yen before deductions. (One must pay into health and unemployment
