Hisotry

  • 1997/Apr. CNS was established at Tanashi campus as a research insititute of Grauate School of Science, Univeresity of Tokyo. CNS inhereted a cyclotron from Insisitute of Nuclear Study.
  • 1998/Apr. CNS signed “Collaboration Agreement on Heavy Ion Physics” between CNS and RIKEN. (Extended every 5 years.)
  • 1999/Dec. Signed Agreement on Academic Exchange between the University of Tokyo and RIKEN.
  • 2000/Mar. Moved to the Hongo campus. Established Wako branch on RIKEN Wako Campus.
  • 2001/Apr. Installed research facilities in RARF.
  • 2001/Aug. Constructed a research building with a floor area of 1200 m&vertical-arign(super){2}; on Wako Campus.
  • 2002/Apr. Established the Nuclear Theory Group.
  • 2004/Mar. Signed Agreement on Academic Exchange between Graduate School of Science and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia).
  • 2004/Apr. Started SHARAQ project.
  • 2005/Feb. CNS External Evaluation by an international committee.
  • 2006/Apr. Established TORIJIN program between UT and RIKEN.(Signed in Jun.)
  • 2007/Feb. 1st NP-PAC. (biannual afterward.)
  • 2008/Oct. Celebration of 10-year anniversary of Collaboration Agreement on Heavy-Ion Physics between CNS and RIKEN.
  • 2009/Mar. Completed SHARAQ spectrometer.
  • 2009/Jun. Celecration of SHARAQ completion.
  • 2011/Jun. CRIB Review Meeting
  • 2013/Mar. CNS External Evaluation by an international committee. (2nd)
  • 2014/Jun. Co-hosted International Conference ARIS2014 with RIKEN
  • 2014/Jul. Established OEDO Preparation Office.
  • 2015/Sep. Hosted OEDO-SHARAQ Internatioanl workshop
  • 2017/Dec. Celectration of OEDO completion.
  • 2020/Jan. CNS External Evaluation by an international committee (3rd)
