Our research is aiming at manifesting the nature of the interaction between nucleons through systematic measurements of their nuclear masses and excitation modes. In radioactive nuclei, plenty of mysterious phenomena have been observed such as the mechanism of the creation of and extinction of nuclear magic numbers and the neutron halo effect. We perform experiments of radioactive nuclei by using the newly-constructed OEDO-SHARAQ beamline, operated by CNS and RIKEN, to build a novel picture of atomic nuclei that properly expresses those exotic nature.
